As East Newark’s first community park, this five-acre green space will serve as a vital hub for recreation, environmental education, and social engagement.
The park features a 1,000-foot-long riverfront boardwalk along the Passaic River, an urban amphitheater designed for community gatherings, and dedicated spaces for hands-on learning about local ecosystems.
This transformation – from a legacy industrial site into a thriving public space – underscores the collaborative efforts of government, businesses, and the community.
By proactively investing in the conservation of open space, in coordination with the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration program, BASF Corporation has demonstrated leadership in environmental restoration.
